Link Round Up: Jan 8 – 14

By William JA Pinnock

Hello and welcome back to the Link Round Up! I’ve been off the past few weeks, but now I’m back and with articles in tow. I could tell you all about them in this introduction, but I have a lot of catching up to do, so…read on!

Big congratulations to OCHIN member Southwest Montana Community Health Center (located in my home state)! They were recently awarded $944k in grant funding, which some of it will go towards ensuring “pregnant women have access to healthcare” to help cover the cost of contraception for residents of the Butte-Silver Bow area. Read more about the grant here.

If you live in Moses Lake (or have family or friends who do) and are living with a chronic condition, Moses Lake Community Health Center is offering free classes on how to live with chronic health conditions. The classes are Jan. 17, 24, and 31 and Feb. 7 and 14. Read more about the classes here.

The University of Alabama Birmingham recently conducted research on social determinants of health and electronic health records. They packed a lot into this study which I could summarize, but I think it would be more interesting if everyone just read it.
