This week’s Link Round Up features articles on opioids, social determinants of health, and mental health care. We even have a hot off the presses press release from OCHIN partner AAPCHO regarding the results of the presidential election.

“Opioid-related overdoses [take] an average of 44 lives each day.” This staggering statistic shows that something needs to be done about the opioid epidemic in this country. The big question is how do we curb this epidemic? Read this article from Health Analytics on possible strategies to combat the opioid situation in this country.

What if mental health services could be integrated into primary care visits? Well, CMS is wondering that too and they are offering funds for primary care providers “who successfully integrate mental healthcare into their primary care ecosystem.” Read more about this here.

Finally, OCHIN partner AAPCHO (the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations) released a statement regarding the results of the American Presidential Election. Read the press release here.
