Link Round Up: Nov 20 – Nov 26

By William JA Pinnock

This week’s Link Round Up features a Ted Talk on the possible future of healthcare, a history of transgender healthcare, and some helpful holiday health tips.

Meet Eric Dishman, a Social Scientist who is proposing a new future for healthcare. What is that future? You will just have to watch his TED Talk and see.

Scientific American recently published a blog post about the history of transgender healthcare and it is fascinating! For example, did you know that German physician Magnus Hirschfeld is considered the father of transgender healthcare? Or that he created the Adaption Theory which posited that people should live “according to the gender they felt most aligned with?” OR that most of his institute’s work was destroyed in 1933? Well, you do now and there is much more to learn from this article.

With Thanksgiving upon us, we here at Community Research Laboratory wish you all a happy and healthy weekend. And to ensure that you remain happy and healthy, the Harvard Medical School has some tips for you.
